  • Our friends from Art Center College of Design. The most innovative of many of our guests. And also a lounge area we set up. Our friend Natalie did henna over there for our guests.

  • More steamy details. Our groomsman Danny hand painted the sign. In my bouquet, our florist Tricia Fountaine included small tea spoons from my grandmothers. The painting on top was painted by my Husband, Jacob Sparks of our dog Mortecai. Cupcakes were AMAZING by Enjoy Cupcakes

  • We served Absinthe at the bar, along with pumpkin pie martinis. We had signs up, playing with the idea of a crash-landing. They read “Please pardon the inconvenience while steam engineers make repairs to the Airship”

Hung in the rafters, Tricia Fountaine BUILT and suspended a replica of Leonardo DaVinci’s wings. You could have ridden them, they were SO HUGE! Sooo breathtaking.

    Also there were goats.

  • Our photographer’s brother and assistant!
He’s holding a basket full of bouquets. One for me and my bridesmaids. But also for my mother, his mother and my grandmother. We were so pleased that even our photography staff dressed up!!!

  • Our wedding party. Everyone put together their own outfits. My maid of Honour and I sketched up her outfit, then pieced it together. My other bridesmaid’s outfit was designed by me and finished by Laura Scoby and the bridesmaid herself. Everyone really went all out to keep with the theme, without going WAY over the top with the gadgety side of Steampunk. Eccentrically elegant is what we stuck with. Victorian fashion and art is AMAZING when combined with brass and cogs.

    As written by the bride:

Jacob and I are both artists. When we started sketching out ideas for the wedding, we new we wanted our guests to feel like they were in another world. That being said, we also needed the wedding to be everything that is truly “us.” After a few months of brainstorming with our designer, Tricia Fountaine, Jacob said “It’s like a steampunk Zeppelin crash-landed in a fairy forest.” It became clear that Steampunk was the perfect avenue to create an elegant, fantastical and imaginative wedding. Steampunk merges the idea of Victorian art and fashion with a science fiction flare. Ray-guns and cowboys, Steam Engines and Airships, Gibson Girl and Princess Leia.

This is a real wedding! I’ve seen staged ones for photo shoots that aren’t this good!!

WOW! Thank you for reblogging this! We’re so happy that everyone enjoys looking at the fruits of our labour! If you want to see the fuller gallery, go to www.misstak.com Thanks again!
